Nashville, TN- Special Spaces, an organization formed in 2004, is one that designs and builds dream rooms for children with terminal illnesses. These rooms are custom built for the needs and wants of the child in mind. Since these children spend much of their time in their bedroom to due their health conditions, Special Spaces is dedicated to creating an enjoyable, fantastic place for these children to spend their time while dealing with the difficulties of being ill.
Special Spaces was founded by Jennifer Sewell, a former member of Make-A-Wish. Since its inception in 2004, over 20 “special spaces” have been built.
On Sunday, November 6th Special Spaces will build a special room for Tariah, a young girl in Franklin, TN. Country artists including Gretchen Wilson, Patty Loveless and Miranda Lambert all contributed items to be auctioned off to raise money for this specific project. In addition, Big3 Nashville recording artist, Joey Daniels will be on hand to volunteer her efforts, alongside others in the community, to create Tariah’s pink and purple “princess” room. After a full day of work on the room, it will be unveiled that evening for Tariah, her friends and family, and the community.
“I'm extremely honored to be a part of Special Spaces. I think it is a wonderful idea to decorate a child’s bedroom so that when they come home from the hospital, their room will be something special— a place that will bring a smile to their face,” Daniels had to say about the event.
Joey Daniels released her first album, Take Me Off The Market, in September on Big3 Nashville. Keep an eye out for the video for the first single, Swinging Door, directed by CMA Award-winning director Peter Zavadil and starring the famous Chicken Dog!
